Annual General Meeting The Club AGM is due to take place on Thursday 24 November at the Oliver Cromwell starting at 8pm. It's always a bundle of laughs, but unfortunately no strippers. The key talking points will be: - Vic Hill will not stand for Vice Chairman as he is moving out of the area (watch out sheep farmers in Scotland) - Andy Ellis is standing down as Club/Sat 1st X1 captain (possibly because nobody could understand his Brummy accent) - David Beal would like to stand for the Club/Sat 1st X1 captain - Rich Bowater would like to continue as the Sat 1st X1 vice captain and stand for the Sunday vice captain (providing he doesn't go head-butting any walls this Winter) - Sal Suleman, who stood in as Sunday captain in Rich’s absence, wishes to continue John Beal snr will stand down as mid-week vice-captain (so don't expect ham for Sunday tea next season) AGM Newsletter Ok, not one of my wittiest efforts but consistently disrespectful none the less! 20/10/2005 |

wld8: Another batting nightmare for Spye 2nd X1 A very strong Spye Park 2nd X1 couldn't prevent a heavy defeat at the hands of Potterne 2nds. Even the bowling line up of Jeff Payne, Paul Hughes, Dave West, Wayne Young & Rich Farmer, couldn't stop the visitors scoring 260 for 5 after 40 overs. J. Down hit a century for Potterne. In response Spye were bowled out for 85. scorecard |

|
wld8: Biddestone beat Spye again Losing to Biddestone is getting a bit tiresome, though the 2nd X1 made a bit more of a match of it this time. Spye gave themselves a decent chance after restricting Biddestone 4ths to 189 for 9 wickets from 40 overs. Paul 'Huggey' Hughes (4 wkts for 39 from12), and Rich Farmer (3 wkts for 48 from 12) doing most of the damage. Spye struggled with the required run rate and were all out for 147. ![]() Paul Hughes 4 for 39 Ross Page - 32 runs Rich Farmer 3 for 48 scorecard 24/08/2005 |

wml: Youngsters lose battle in Warminster In the absence of skipper John Beal Junior, Jon Haines led the Midweek XI into the fray against Warminster. Batting first, Spye recovered from a shaky start to post 113 from their 20 overs. Despite resolute bowling from young guns Jack Haines and Simon Ellis, Warminster reached their total with over 4 overs to spare. scorecard 0908/2005 |

Helen 'Dolly' Dolman in White Russian Intrigue 'Following our article on recent investigations by the US Government into the Spye Park website, scorer Helen Dolman has confessed: "I once got drunk on white Russians'" We are not yet sure about how many Russians she was drunk on, their names, or if anything was passed between them, but we are confident that Helen would have finished on top. Rest assured if we find out any filth, scandal or unadulterated rubbish, you'll read it here first, subject to advice from our legal consultant, Rich Bowater. One e-mail from a reader in Kent, who wishes to remain anonymous, firmly points the finger at Dave West as the traitor..."Dodgy Beard" were his comments 08/08/2005 |

Georgians: Pants week-end continues We're not quite sure that we've a scorecard for this match, but we do know All Cannings got off to a great start with both openers hitting centuries. The visitors finished on 321-3 after seven catches were put down. The Georgians bowling wasn't great either with Dave West (39-1) and Alex Bowater (59-2) taking the only wickets. Martin Gailley (30), Alex Bowater (34) and Sal Suleman (35 not out) and Dave Baker (22) were top contributors to the Georgians total of 190 for 9 wickets after 40 overs. .scorcard to come (maybe, with a bit of luck) |

|
wld1: Spye get hump with ump
Four unsuccessful appeals (three lbw's and a run out) enabled Lechlade to build a total that in the end was just too much for Spye, despite a valiant run chase. Pace bowler Nick Church took 3 wickets and was unlucky not to take more, while John Beal took 1 wicket for 48 runs from12 overs, and Chris Brown took an early wicket but bowled without luck. Dave Beal (68) and Jon Haines (54 not out) performed heroics in the the great chase, after Paul Fennell (34) and Charlie Doel (23) got Spye off to a good start. Tim Bissett made his long awaited debut and also his last game of the year as he is off on holiday next week. scorecard to come ![]() Jon Haynes - 54 not out Nick Church - 3 wickets Dave Beal - 68 07/08/2005 |

Spye's R US Either the Americans have developed a sudden interest in cricket or they can't spell and we have a spy amidst our ranks, as it appears that our website was visited yesterday by the US Government and the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). ![]() As you all probably know, ARPA is one of the research and development organisations within the US department of defence. So assuming that our friends across the ocean haven't suddenly given up their preference for rounders with a big bat, here's a list of potential traitors: |

wld8: DC's evil undoes Keevil Another damp day and we were at Keevil again. Wayne Young was captain in the absence of Sal Suleman. Batting first, Tom Young (56) and Dave Coleman (26) helped Spye to 171 for 5 wickets after 40 overs. In reply, Keevil will were undone by Paul Macey and Dave Coleman, who took 3 wickets each. In the end Keevil were bowled out for 147 after 36 overs. Scorecard The game was the last for a while for Dave "DC" Coleman who is going back to Cambodia to resume teaching English and eating dodgy food. 01/08/2005 |

|
wld8: Russell's fifty not enough
to save Spye 2nd Xl A damp drizzly day, saw a strong North Bradley team travel to Spye. The second Xl returned a better bowling performance than the last game against North Bradley, bowling out the visitors for 151 after 42.5 overs. The loss of four early wickets wrecked Spye's hopes of a fifth Wiltshire League Division 8 victory however, as they were reduced to 11 for 4 wickets. Although Dave Russell came to the rescue with his maiden fifty, the home side finished on 103 for 7 after 45 overs, some 48 runs short of the North Bradley total. Scorecard 01/08/2005 |

wld1: First X1 match with Collingbourne abandoned Spye Park were robbed of their chance to secure another important victory in the Wiltshire League Division 1 by heavy rain at Collingbourne Ducis. During a rain interrupted innings, Collingbourne were restricted to just over 200 runs and Spye's batsmen would have fancied their chances of chasing an amended total. However, the heavens opened and the match was abandoned shortly after an early tea was taken. 31/07/2005 |
